This training course covers the principles and practices of effective records management in the modern hybrid paper and digital environment. It will provide participants with a thorough grounding in the nature, challenges and techniques of records management. It is suitable for anyone setting up a records management programme and for all staff working in records centres. It also provides an effective “refresher” for archivists and librarians who have not had recent hands-on experience.

Records Management: The Building Blocks is facilitated and presented by Margaret Crockett and Janet Foster, Directors of the Archive-Skills Consultancy. The course, based on records management training previously delivered by the partnership, was reviewed and revised in 2013. It combines presentations, facilitated discussion and workshops to ensure an interesting and relaxed learning environment.

The course fee includes a course handbook with supporting notes and useful sources for further information. The fee also includes lunch (with vegetarian option; please let the directors know if you have any other special dietary needs) and tea and coffee.
